transporting a yacht with the mast up

Due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions, I won’t be able to get to France for the sea trials or to start the northern European trip. Therefore the Sanity Test will be sea trailed in Sainte Marine and then sailed to La Rochelle, France by Gulf Stream who are based there. Then it will be loaded on to a Sevenstar yacht transport ship with the mast up and then transported to Baltimore where I can pick it up.

The boat completion date is March 8th with Sevenstar loading from March 25 to April 10. The trip across the pond will take 7 to 10 days. So if the dates hold true, I should be sailing on the Chesapeake no later than April 20th. After some spring sailing on the bay, I’m headed up to Maine for the summer and should be back in Charleston in the fall. Then in February/March of 2022 it is off the Europe. As I spent the last two years planning the trip and looking into all the side trips the kayak, ski, fly fish, golf and drink scotch, I might as well follow through and do it. Charleston to the Channel via Bermuda and the Azores. Then 270 days until recrossing the Atlantic from Lisbon to Barbados.
